摘要
A theory that allows calculation of surface tension and surface concentrations for multicomponent solutions from bulk concentrations, surface tensions, and molar volumes of pure components is presented. By differentiating the formula obtained for surface tension against the chemical potential, an equation similar to the Gibbs' adsorption isotherm is obtained. A calculated dependence of surface tension on the composition of the water-ethanol solution is in good agreement with experiment. Exemplary calculations for a three-component mixture are presented. © 1991.
