摘要
The cellulase producing organism Penicillium purpurogenum isolated from soil and identified in our laboratory, utilized both pure and complex carbon sources for growth and produce cellulolytic enzymes like CMC-ase, Filter-paper hydrolysing enzyme and beta-glucosidase. Among all the carbon sources Carboxymethyl Cellulose gave the maximum yield of all the three cellulolytic enzymes while among the complex carbon sources alkali-treated bagasse gave good production of the enzymes. Studies on the effect of nitrogen sources on the production of Cellulases by P. purpurogenum indicate that the organism used both inorganic and organic nitrogen sources for growth and production of the enzyme. Among all the nitrogen sources ammonium sulphate gave the maximum yield of all three cellulolytic enzymes while among the organic nitrogen sources yield of the enzymes were maximum with yeast-extract as the nitrogen source. In case of both ammonium sulphate and yeast extract the optimal yield of the enzymes were obtained on 11th day of fermentations.
