摘要
This article presents a short overview of current trends in research on reading and spelling. First, specific conceptual and methodological shortcomings of research on dyslexia are briefly discussed. Next, current developmental models of reading and spelling are introduced. Finally, the importance of longitudinal studies influenced by those models and focusing on the role of metalinguistic abilities in the acquisition of reading and spelling skills is highlighted.
