摘要：
Hepatocellular carcinoma is the 6th most common cancer world wide and its incidence is incrasing in the west. Liver resection remains the treatment of choice in non-cirrhotic and cirrhotic with preserved liver function and normal portal pressure. Careful patent selection is paramount. Five year survival after resection is somewhere between 41%-74%. Predictors of recurrence inclued vasuclar invasion, tumor size and presence of statelltie lessions among has become a very valuable tool in the management of hepatoculluar carcinoms with very good results when within the Milan critieria, with 70% 5-years survival and low recurrence rates.
