The intermediate cold-pressing effect was examined in Pb-doped Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O sintered specimens by resistivity measurement and transmission electron microscopy to clarify the relationship between Jcproperty and microstructure. An unpressed sample was very porous and grains were feebly joined, while grains were densely packed and intimately connected in a pressed sample. The structural difference caused a large discrepancy of Jcproperty in one order of magnitude. © 1990 IOP Publishing Ltd.
