摘要：

We will study here the works of Sciascia (primarily Il consiglio d'Egitto, but referring also to others of his works) and its relationship with history's problematic. In this context, we will study the actuality of the historical novel, the political dimension of the history-literature relationship, the urgency that literature has of narrating history and searching for human values in a world where they seem to have perished. In order to do so, it will be necessary to go back to some of the discussions about the relationship between literature and history, which we will do resorting to the theoretical terms of the present-day debates.
