ELECTRICAL-PROPERTIES AND CATIONIC DISTRIBUTION IN CUBIC NICKEL MANGANITE SPINELS NIXMN3-XO4, 0.57-LESS-THAN-X-LESS-THAN-1

摘要
The electrical conductivity and thermoelectric power of single-phase cubic nickel manganite spinels Ni(x)Mn(3-x)O4 with 0.57 < x < 1 have been measured in the temperature range 300-800 K on samples which have been quenched or slow-cooled from high temperature. The change in the activation energy, the maximum observed for the conductivity and the increase of the thermoelectric power at about 650 K for composition x > 0.80 are indicative of an exchange of cations in the spinel lattice leading to a formula of type: [GRAPHICS] Over the composition range 0.57 < x < 0.80, the results show no evidence of cation exchange.
