SPATIAL BIFURCATIONS OF LOCALIZED STRUCTURES IN BENARD-MARANGONI CONVECTION

摘要
Spatial bifurcations of structures in convection with inhomogeneous heating are investigated experimentally. It is found that as the depth of the fluid in such a system increases, the flow transforms from a cellular pattern to waves spreading cylindrically. It is shown that in a certain range of parameters, there may exist a localized structure in the form of a cell, whose parameters do not change as the initial conditions and the heater shape change.
