Introduction: Indirect Radionuclide cystography is one of the imaging techniques used for the detection of vesicoureteral reflux in children. But, the data on this topic so far is insufficient for its use in clinical practice. The aim in this study was to investigate the efficacy of indirect radionuclide cystography in clinical practice. Materials and Methods: Voiding cystoureterography and indirect radionuclide cystography results of the patients who have been followed at our center were retrospectively compared. Results: According to the results of voiding cystoureterography, vesicoureteral reflux was determined at 9 of 30 patients (30%). The sensitivity, specifity, positive and negative predictive values of indirect radionuclide cystography were established as 22.2%, 57.1%, 18.8%, and 63.1%, respectively. The statistical correlation between voiding cystoureterography and indirect radionuclide cystography results was insignificant (p>0.05). Conclusion: It was concluded that indirect radionuclide cystography did not have influence on the diagnosis of reflux in children. On going golden standard characteristic of direct cystographic techniques on VUR at near future was appreciated.
