What do we talk about when we decide that we teach medicine based on a problem-based learning curriculum?

摘要
Problem based learning corresponds to a curricular model that throughout the years has developed multiple strategies that imply a change wich goes beyond a simple variation in didactics. Problem based learning is confused with learning by cases, which has also been used throughout multiple generations for education in medicine. Based on this concept, when we claim that we have a problem based learning curriculum, we secure a situation that is different from a simple session in which the student and the professor solve a case problem out front; problem based learning implies the development of a complex educative system in its structure and administration and takes into account the idiosyncratic, cultural and personal characteristics of the student and the professor.
