摘要：
In the new context of the global economy transnational corporations are the essential part of the new economic geography and impact through its various activities to local economies. Therefore this research aims to show the first impacts on local and regional development in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec (Oaxaca, Mexico) arising from the installation of wind farms by transnational corporations, for generating electricity. This, after review and analysis of macroeconomic indicators particularly productive capacity, gross domestic product and employment. It is evidence of increased productive capacity of the wind industry, and economic and employment growth in the region.
