Configuration dependent hybridization strength revealed by analysis of resonant inverse photoemission in CeNi2

We analyze the recently measured resonant inverse photoemission spectrum in CeNi2 at the Ce 3d threshold on the basis of the Anderson model including the full multiplet effect. The analysis of the incident electron energy dependence of the 4f(n) -> 3d(9)4f(n+2) -> 4f(n+1) (n = 0, 1) processes shows that the magnitude of 4f-ligand hopping integral in the intermediate state with a 3d hole must be smaller by a factor similar to 3 than that in the initial state without the core hole.
