A NONLINEAR MODEL OF THERMAL EFFECTS IN LASER CRYSTALS OF THE YAG-ND TYPE

摘要
A nonlinear (steady-state) model of thermal effects in YAG:Nd is suggested which employes real temperature variations of the thermal conductivity of the active medium. Formules are derived for thermal stresses, ultimate heat load and focal length of the thermal lens for an active element in the form of a long circular rod. It is shown that there formulas contain new relationships and correspond to the experiment much closer than those of the linear model. When cooling is intensified the nonlinear formulas coverge into well-known relationships of the linear approximation.
