Furfural is discussed from the viewpoint of its use as a reactant in various pesticide syntheses. Various reactions using furfural are presented for each type of product synthesized. The discussion covers herbicidical furfurylamines and tetrahydrofurfurylamines; pyrethrum type insecticides and repellents; and furfural - derived growth regulators.
