摘要
The volumetric rendering technique generates 3D images of computed tomography data with unprecedented image quality. Volumetric rendering is a general technique with applications in many different fields. This article describes in detail the methods and algorithms used for volumetric rendering of medical computed tomography data and includes a step-by-step description of the process used to generate two types of images (unshaded and shaded surfaces). Images generated with this technique are in routine clinical use. © 1990 IEEE
