CHEMICAL CONTRACT MANAGEMENT PANEL DISCUSSION

The chemical contract management program is a growing trend in the metalworking fluids industry. The single supplier manages all the fluids in the plant and is then compensated on a parts produced or a monthly charge basis. The criterion for this supplier selection is their technological expertise, price, and the ability to coordinate all the chemicals in the plant. This panel discussion will review why the program is being implemented, how it's working, who is involved, and what problems and successes have resulted. Discussion questions for the first half of the discussion came from polled industry participants involved in the program. Questions for the second half of the discussion were from audience participants at the STLE Annual Meeting in May 1990, in Denver, Colorado.
