摘要
The resonance scattering of an incident Rayleigh wave by a mass defect extending over a small cylindrical region situated in the surface of a semi-infinite, isotropic, elastic medium is investigated by means of the Green function method. The form of the differential cross section for the scattering into different channels exhibits a strong resonance phenomenon, which occurs if the mass density in the defect region is larger than that of the host medium.
