摘要
We performed a field study and cross-section of 145 teachers from the Faculty of Health Sciences from a public Venezuelan university. The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence of burnout syndrome (BO), as well as the identification of occupational risk factors and their possible association with the different areas of the BO. For this research is used the instrument MBI of Maslach modified by Roman, (2003), and testing of three wishes. The data collection lasted four months. We measured the level of Burnout in different areas of affectation: the results of the different variables were subjected to statistical analysis univariate and bivariate. The main results observed emotional exhaustion (AE) as the main area of affectation of the BO in 69% of teachers. Also we found that the fact of working in another place different from the campus (Public and Privates Clinic Work) is a protective factor fhr the AE in the teachers: OR = 0.46 [(95% CI = 0.21 to 1.02, p <0.05)], even though this association did not.found statistically significant. The prevalence of BO was from 21%. Poor infrastructure and working conditions, low salaries and administrative bureaucracy, were identified as major problems affecting the teaching profession.
