INTRAMOLECULAR HEMOLYTIC SHIFTS .19. STEREOCHEMISTRY OF INDUCED DECOMPOSITION OF UNSATURATED PEROXIDES LEADING TO THE FORMATION OF 3-MEMBERED AND 4-MEMBERED HETEROCYCLES
Homolytic decomposition induced by addition of dichloromethyl radicals to beta- and gamma-unsaturated peroxides having a substituent on the chain linking the unsaturation and the peroxide function was studied. The stereochemistry of the heterocycles produced was determined by C-13 NMR and the stereoselectivity of intramolecular homolytic substitution on the peroxidic bond discussed.
