摘要
A new method for H- beam-energy and energy-spread diagnostics is proposed. This method is based on the interaction of a short-wavelength (150-300 nm) laser colliding at 0° with a relativistic H- beam. The interaction results in the capability to pump a short-lived resonance in H- below the n = 2 threshold. This resonance, commonly referred to as the Feshbach resonance, autoionizes and produces H0 particles that are detected as the Feshbach resonance signature. This technique has the potential for measuring the H- energy and energy spread to the precision of a few keV or less. © 1990.
