摘要
The paper presents an analysis of the slip of a particle on the inside of a rotating cylinder. The model assumes that the particle slides, but does not roll, over the inner surface. The governing differential equation is derived and solved numerically. The model predicts the onset and amount of slipping between the particle and the cylinder. The amount of slip predicted by this formulation is significantly higher than previously estimated. The interaction between the coefficient of friction and the cylinder rotational velocity is presented, with four slipping modes being identified. In addition, two modes whereby the particle can become centrifuged to the cylinder are derived and discussed, namely slip centrifuged and totally centrifuged.
