摘要
In contrast to arenes, the fluorescence of protonated aza-arenes in fluid solution is more readily quenched by methyl iodide than by silver perchlorate. This is probably due to the Coulomb repulsion between the fluorescent ion and the silver ion, thus inhibiting the formation of a non-fluorescent complex.
