The relation between type I- and type IV-hypersensitivity against dust mites was evaluated for 26 children with atopic dermatitis. 9 had specific IgE against dust mites; 5 of these reacted positive against dust mite-allergens in the epicutaneous test, too. A significant correlation of type IV-hypersensitivity and higher dust mite exposure at home or other clinical/anamnestic data was not found.
