STRUCTURE AND PHOTOGRAPHIC PROPERTIES OF SILVER BROMIDE LAYERS DOPED WITH SILVER-IODIDE

摘要
The influence of iodide ions on the structure and photographic behaviour of AgBr layers is studied. It is established that layers doped with 3% AgI reveal the smallest average size of the microcrystallites and the lowest size dispersion while those doped with 10% AgI are characterized by the highest photosensitivity. The results obtained confirm the concept that the enhanced sensitivity of doped systems is caused by the creation or deepening of the existing traps for photogenerated holes.
