STUDY OF FORCED DOMAIN-WALL MOTION IN A ONE-DIMENSIONAL XYZ-HEISENBERG FERROMAGNET

摘要
Acceleration and motion of originally resting domain walls forced by an external magnetic field are studied semiclassically using coherent spin states for a Heisenberg spin chain. Numerical calculations show that generally the walls move with a constant drift velocity after a short acceleration period. A competition between external field and damping by spin wave generation is responsible for the steady motion. For special magnetic anisotropies an intrinsic pinning of the domain walls occurs.
