This study presents and discusses the results of the interview with eight high school teachers from a state-run high school in the municipality of Conceicao do Araguaia/PA, who were selected according to the following CAPES areas of knowledge: Natural and Earth Sciences, Biological Sciences, Humanities, Linguistics, Letters and Arts. Its central theme is the interdisciplinary projects, conceptions and practices in the light of the national curriculum guidelines. Its objective is to analyze (1) the concepts of interdisciplinarity defended by leading authors on the subject in Brazil, (2) the importance of interdisciplinary projects in teaching and learning processes, (3) the teaching conceptions and practices in the development of the projects, and (4) the way the projects are applied in different areas of knowledge. We noted the absence of consensus and conceptual complexity on what interdisciplinarity is, which makes it difficult for teachers to understand the subject and impoverishes the practices involving interdisciplinary projects within the school context.
