摘要
Natural and photoinduced gyrotropy (optical activity) in chalcogenide vitreous semiconductor films under interband excitation has been discovered and studied. This phenomenon arises together with the photoinduced anisotropy, and both of them lead to rotation of the polarization plane of light, exciting interband transitions. The mechanism of these phenomena is referred to the interaction of polarized light with gyrotropic and anisotropic 'native' defects in the films.
