TRANSIENT ANALYTICAL STUDY OF BOX-TYPE SOLAR COOKER

So as to get the overall picture of the thermal performance of the box-type solar cooker, a simple transient analysis has been carried out. Explicit expressions for the temperatures of the utensil water, utensil itself, cooker plate, stagnant air between the cooker plate and the glass cover and the glass cover have been developed. To reduce the cooking time and hence, to enhance the insolation (particularly in the winter), the concept of a booster mirror has been incorporated in the analysis. Numerical calculations have been performed for a typical day in Delhi.
