摘要
A new model for composite fracture termed the fiber bridging model is introduced. In light of the proposed fiber bridging model, an expression for the stress intensity factor for brittle matrix composites is derived. Through this method, the strengthening ability of the fibers, which is mainly influenced by the Young's modulus ratio alpha(=E(f)/E(m)), and the fiber volume fraction, V-f, is investigated.
