Fully decarbonated Y-Ba-Cu-O specimens are prepared and investigated by TG-DTA analysis and susceptibility measurement. Composition dependence of Δχ/W (susceptibility change at Tc, Δχ, normalized by the weight, W) and accordingly, that of S/W(S: magnitude of the DTA anomaly corresponding to the tetragonal-to-orthorhombic phase transition) and Tc can be explained by the change of volume fraction of the 123 phase in the specimens. © 1990 The Japan Society of Applied Physics.
