摘要
The title problem is solved by using linear analysis and the Rayleigh-Schmidt method. Frequency coefficients corresponding to the lower symmetric and antisymmetric modes of transverse vibration are tabulated. Since it is assumed that the thin, isotropic plate is elastically restrained against translation and rotation, the free edge case turns out to be a particular situation of the mechanical system under study. A comparison with results obtained by means of the finite element method is also presented. Very good agreement is achieved for the situations considered. © 1991.
