VIBRATIONAL-RELAXATION OF FO(V=1)RADICALS STUDIED BY FAST-MAGNETIC-FIELD-JUMP TIME-RESOLVED LMR EXPERIMENT AND THEORY

The method of fast magnetic field jump combined with the time-resolved LMR technique has been employed to measure the rate constants of vibrational relaxation of FO(ν=1) at T = 320 K by SiF4, CH3F, O3, NF3, PH3, SF6, CF4, NO and NO2: 6.4×10-11, 1.4×10-11, 1.4×10-11, 7.2×10-12, 1.5×10-11, 1.2×10-11, 2.0×10-13, 4.4×10-11, 9.3×10-12 cm3/s, respectively. These rate constants have been compared with those calculated in terms of the Sharma and Brau theory. All the earlier reported results of calculations by this theory have been tabulated. The intensities of FO LMR spectral lines have been calculated. The technique based on measuring LMR signal saturation value has been applied to estimating the dipole moment of vibrational transition of FO. The value obtained, 0.084±0.012 D is 19% lower than that calculated quantum-chemically by Langhoff, Bauschlicher, and Partridge. © 1990.
