FREEON UNITARY-GROUP FORMULATION OF HARTREE-FOCK THEORY

Hartree-Fock theory was a major topic in Professor Lowdin's famous 1955 Physical Review papers. His development was based on fermion orbitals and the Slater determinant. Since that time there has been developed, at the University of Texas, the freeon, unitary-group formulation of quantum chemistry as a viable alternative to the fermionic formulations of nonrelativistic quantum chemistry.
