The operational requirements being imposed on oils are determined by the working conditions and by the construction of the units and lubricating systems. The most general and important properties of lubricating oils are the level of viscosity and the anti-oxidation stability. The abrasive particles are particles of metal oxides being formed on the friction surface under the action of oxidation products which appear in the oil in the process of use. The experimental data obtained allows us to draw the conclusion that the formation and regeneration of oxide films on the rolling tracks depend on the degree of oxidation of the oil.
