摘要
Introduction: Meralgia paresthetica is an entrapment neuropathy, caused by compression of lateral femoral cutaneous nerve, usually at the level of the inguinal ligament. This neuropathy is diagnosed clinically, and characterized by pain, paresthesia or burning sensation on anterolateral tight. Report of cases: We report six patients with meralgia paresthesica: 4 women and 2 men. Four of them have a history of abdominal surgery (inguinal herniorhaphy or histherectomy), one of the patients have a history of inguinal trauma and other was a diabetic. Four patients were treated by anesthetic and corticosteroids inject ion medial and below the anterosuperior iliac spine, one received a neurolisis procedure of the lateral cutaneous nerve, and one was treated with non steroidal analgesics and application of ice in the affected area. All patients have excellent results with a minimum of three months follow-up. Conclusions: Meralgia paresthetica is a rare entrapment neuropathy, and most patients only require medical treatment
