NOISE AS A POSSIBLE RISK FACTOR FOR RAISED BLOOD-PRESSURE IN MAN

Stress factors in working environments have recently been discussed as risk factors for cardiovascular disease. Acute exposure to noise has been shown to cause a temporary rise in blood pressure. Herein are briefly described physiological changes leading to a rise in blood pressure and a study undertaken of a group of male industrial workers in Sweden on the connection between a noise-induced hearing loss and raised blood pressure. © 1978.
