摘要：

Peri-implantitis is an inflammatory process affecting the surrounding soft and hard tissue around a functional dental implant, which leads to bone loss and loosening of implant. Bacterial infection and occlusal overloading are one of the important causative factors. This article highlights the different possible etiological factors, the disease pathogenesis, prevention and treatment of peri-implantitis.
