摘要
The amino acid sequence of T2 phage lysozyme has been determined. Like T4 phage lysozyme, T2 phage lysozyme consists of 164 amino acid residues, and its activity was found to be inhibited by anti-T4 lysozyme. From the comparison of tryptic peptides of the two lysozymes, it was found that there were only three amino acid substitutions in which they differed. These were: Asn 40→Ser, Ala 41→Val and Thr 151→Ala, from T4 lysozyme to T2 lysozyme, all of which can be explained by single base alterations consisting of adenine to guanine and cytosine to uracil. © 1968.
