A Numerical Simulation Method and its Application for Elastic-brittle of Crack Propagation of Fractured Rock under Compression Shear

摘要
The corresponding fracture mechanics parameters are inserted into an elastic-brittle model; the strength and elastic parameters of the damaged unit are weakened; so FLAC(3D) can be applied to the simulated calculation of crack propagation of fractured rock. This simulation method is compared with the compression-shear tests on fractured rock specimen in the lab. The crack propagation patterns and the strength changing law of the specimen with different fracture penetration from the simulation match well with the results from the lab tests. Further researches are conducted on the impact of fracture water pressure on the crack propagation and strength of rock. A simulated calculation is achieved on pressing water gradually into the secondary cracks and compared with the weighted average method commonly used. The result shows that with changes in the connectivity rate and water pressure of fracture, the rupture mode and strength value of fracture rocks are quite different. Finally, the crack propagation law of slope engineering and the changes of the safety factor of the slope are studied by applying this model and analysis method to a large slope excavation project.
