THE GROUND-STATE OF THE ACCEPTOR MOLECULE A2 IN A CUBIC SEMICONDUCTOR AT LARGE INTERIMPURITY DISTANCE

摘要
In cubic p-type semiconductors there is a quadrupole-quadrupole interaction between neutral shallow acceptor impurities which are in degenerate GAMMA-8 ground states. This interaction at large impurity distances R >> alpha (alpha-is the effective Bohr radius) falls off as R-5 and is therefore greater than other interaction energies. The molecular energy levels that arise from the ground state levels of the acceptor atoms are found.
