New concept for shape control in the finishing shop of the hot wide strip mill at Voest-Alpine Stahl Lint GmbH. More precise pre-adjustment of the mill using neural networks, in particular for rolling force and spreading. Training of neural networks. Global configuration of the process automation system. Special commissioning concept with capability of alternating between the old and the new automation systems. Optimization of process models.
