摘要：

The iron concentrations in livers and spleens of 126 Rhodesian African infants and children were estimated histologically and chemically. When these results were compared with the findings of other workers on European subjects, little difference was found except that the average liver iron concentration tended to be higher in African children aged 2–10 years than in the same group of European children. This difference was attributed to the high iron content of the African diet. © 1968 Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.
