摘要
We study and compare the evolution of two destinations that have similarities in their history tourist history, population size and territorial function. In spite of the similarities of Malaga and Mar del Plata, they show behaviours unique in its evolution. It taken as reference the model study of Butler. In the case of Malaga is essential to understand the relationship this city has had with Torremolinos and the Costa del Sol, in order to explain the evolution of destination. In the case of Mar del Plata is important to emphasize the role of domestic demand and the political decisions that led to the popularization of the destination. Also, we analyze the role played by second homes and the urbanization process in the evolution of tourist destinations.
