LATTICE DIMENSIONALITY, SYMMETRY, AND CRITICAL BEHAVIOR OF FERROELECTRICS

摘要
A review is given on the critical behavior of systems undergoing structural - in particular ferroelectric - phase transitions. The decisive influence of the lattice dimensionality and the symmetry of the interaction on the nonclassical critical behavior is demonstrated. It is emphasized, that nonclassical fluctuations may drive the transition to first order. In many cases cross-over effects are crucial for the explanation of the critical behavior in ferroelectrics.
