摘要
Subjects attempted to guess the correct word among five words varying in frequency of occurrence in the language. It was found that words at the extreme frequencies (high or low) were easier to guess than words of intermediate frequencies. This effect was most pronounced when Ss had been instructed concerning the frequency dimension, but also occurred in the absence of such instructions. © 1969 Academic Press, Inc. All rights reserved.
