Trans-hept-2-enal, 5-hexenoic acid and trans-hex-2-enylacetate components of scent gland secretions exhibited a strong fungicidal activity; while n-octylacetate and trans-hex-2-enylbutyrate were mild in their fungicidal activity against Curvularia lunata (Wakker) Boedjn and Fusarium oxysporum Schlecht pathogens of tomato fruit (Lycopersicon esculentus Millsp.). Rest of the scent components were intermediate in their fungicidal activity.
