Some six/four-coordinated Mn-II, Co-II, Ni-II and Cu-II complexes of piperidinobenzylurea, a Mannich base derived from urea, piperidine and benzaldehyde, have been synthesised and screened for their antibacterial activity. The complexes exhibit two types of stoichiometry; viz. M.2L and M.L. A few complexes contained coordinated water molecules. The geometries of the complexes have been proposed.
