摘要
A group of 110 gold-tooled bindings, covering mainly incunabula, as well as a few sixteenth-, seventeenth-, and eighteenth-century works, was produced in a bindery in The Hague during the eighteenth century, presumably for one collector. This article describes the detective work which has led to the identification of the owner of these finely bound books as Samuel van Huls, a Hague magistrate and avid collector of books and pictures.
