THE TEMPERATURE-DEPENDENCE OF THE RATE-CONSTANT FOR THE REACTION F+DBR-]DF+BR

摘要
The ratio of rate constants k(F+DBr)/k(F+H2) has been determined by a discharge-flow-mass spectrometric technique and was found to exhibit a linear Arrhenius temperature dependence in the range 210-298 K. Based on the linear dependence reported for k(F+H2), it is concluded that k(F+DBr) also exhibits a linear Arrhenius temperature dependence. The present results for k(F+DBr) are consistent with earlier results for k(F+HBr) and confirm our earlier conclusion that the mechanism of the reaction is probably a direct hydrogen atom abstraction. Results concerning the kinetic isotoPe effect k(F+HBr)/k(F+DBr) are also presented and discussed.
