摘要：

This paper describes the man-machine interface (MMI) designed and implemented by the authors for the BT switched-star cable TV network manager. The human factors issues involved in the design are discussed with reference to the BT user interface style guide as are other design issues and the layers of the interface related to the layers specified in the BT user interface architecture. The implementation of the interface, field experience and finally the lessons learned in building and evaluating the MMI are then discussed.
